You are officially one of the newest members of the Shaw Bear family. We are committed to transforming you into a global leader, who will make an incredible impact on the world in which we live. The goal of New Student Orientation is to introduce students
and families to campus services, resources and the expectations of collegiate life at Shaw University. During New Student Orientation, students and families attend information sessions, participate in social activities, interact with peer orientation
mentors and meet with an academic advisor to discuss your career pursuits, then register for courses.

August 4-6, 2023 (Out-of-State/International Residents)
FIRST YEAR STUDENTS
We understand that this is an exciting and emotional time for you and your student. We hope to make the transition as smooth as possible, for both of you. Please join us for New Parent Orientation to ensure that you are informed and able to best support
your student. During New Parent Orientation, you should expect to hear from: Academic Deans, Office of Financial Aid, Office of Student Accounts, the Counseling Center, and Academic Support Staff. These sessions will take place on day one of New Student
Orientation (typically on a Friday from 9am-2pm). We look forward to meeting you and we’re excited to welcome you to our university.
