The Office of Student Activities/Greek Life encourages you to join the organization of your choice, but if you do not find a group that caters to your special interest then we encourage you to start your own student organization. You may be wondering if it is really as simple as it sounds…the answer is yes!
All student organizations are required to register with the Office of Student Activities/Greek Life. Every semester, returning student organizations must fill out a reinstatement packet to complete this process. Reinstatement packets are due no later than the last week in September (fall semester) and the last week of February (spring).
If your organization falls in a category below then it is time to UPDATE YOUR REGISTRATION PACKET!!!
- New - Active less than one year
- Requesting Reinstatement - Previously recognized, but presently inactive
- Requesting Renewal- Presently active Returning student organizations that do not complete a reinstatement packet will lose registration status and all rights granted by the registration process.
Governance of Student Organizations
All student organizations are governed by the Office of Student Activities & Greek Life, with the assistance of the Student Government Association (SGA). Registered student organizations are defined and placed into seven different categories:
