Shaw Hosts First Annual Faculty Research Symposium

The Offices of Grants Management Support and Professional Development hosted the first Annual Faculty Research Symposium on December 13, 2017. Faculty who conducted research, participated in a research project, or interested in research were strongly encouraged to attend. The symposium consisted of lightning talks, a hands-on mock grant skills building workshop and poster presentations. Dr. Beverly Clark III (pictured above) was voted best poster presentation titled “Environmental Impacts of Microparticles.”

The following faculty members were awarded travel funds to attend conferences for the purpose of gaining professional development. Each presented a lightning talk on their experiences, presentations, findings and/or research.

Information shared with attendees include innovative technology in STEM to increase recruitment and retention; safe place services to promote a safe campus; linking childcare resources to community service and faculty-led study abroad programs:
